I have this problem on ubuntu 14.04 LTS with baobab 3.8.2.

Baobab is telling me that a cifs-mounted directory is 182 GiB, while Thunar reports the correct size of 55 GiB.

When run on the cifs server, du -sh also reports 55G. When run on the client machine, it reports 170G, unless I use the --apparent-size option, which makes it report the correct value. It seems that baobab needs to be modified to act like du --apparent-size when it operates on cifs-mounted directories.
