Bug Description
Just plugged in my old 1st gen iPod touch 16GB (USB ID 05ac:1291) and when I started Banshee, it crashed after a few seconds. Any subsequent start of Banshee resulted in an immediate crash as long as the iPod was connected. When physically dis- and reconnecting the iPod, it did work and I was able to transfer songs to it.
However, when I disconnected the iPod (using the disconnect option in Banshee and letting it finish it's 'writing database' routine) and started the Music App on the iPod, it said 'Updating library, this can take several minutes.'
However, after 30 minutes, this process still wasn't finished. So I restarted the iPod and now when I start the Music App, it just shows the first screen and then freezes. The 'Home' button still works though.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10
Package: banshee 2.2.0-1ubuntu2
ProcVersionSign
Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic x86_64
ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu3
Architecture: amd64
Date: Sat Oct 22 09:17:00 2011
InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release amd64 (20111012)
SourcePackage: banshee
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install)
After restoring the factory default settings (running 'Erase All Content and Settings' on the iPod Touch), re-activating the device using iTunes 10.5 on WinXP, I added a few songs using Banshee.
After disconnecting the iPod music app says 'No Music'. So the whole database syncing seems to be defunct.
I'm using firmware 3.1.3 (7E18) by the way.
