Bug Description
I attempted to import a very large music library (over 55,000 filesystem entries, including folders, consisting mostly of .mp3 and .flac files with some other formats, and taking up about 470 GiB, mounted via smbmount via a remote Samba share) into banshee 2.2.0-1ubuntu2 on an Oneiric i386 system, by specifying a single top-level folder to import. This worked well for a while, but then stalled for hours on item 33385 of 50549. This had also occurred with banshee on a fully updated Natty amd64 system installed on a different machine (same music library) a few months ago, but I do not remember the banshee package version on that system. The attached screenshot illustrates the problem. Banshee consumed significant CPU resources (over half of existing resources on a system with two CPU cores) as it was stalled, but had only consumed approximately "20%" as indicated in top (i.e., 10% of existing CPU resources) earlier during importing, when it was not stalled.
