Bug Description

Usually, I could launch Banshee from the notification area or dash, but at present, it won't go. I get the attached error output if I launch it from a console.

Its info header gives the version info:
Running Banshee 2.1.3: [Ubuntu oneiric (development branch) (linux-gnu, x86_64) @ 2011-08-25 18:47:06 UTC]

Something possibly related. I have two other packages that are affected by a rather nasty qt4 bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qt4-x11/+bug/805303 . To work around that bug, I've installed qtconfig and used it to reconfigure qt to run Motif style. This problem surfaces after I had done this, I think. Even after changing style back to Default or gtk+, though Banshee still isn't starting.

Either something I did or a ubuntu update has made Banshee work again. After my last reboot, Banshee was able to start again. In between Update Manager updated some things, including a new kernel version 3.0.0-11-generic. Or, it might have been a delayed effect of changing the qt4 theme or removing Banshee configuration files which I'd also done (neither had an immediate effect as I tested each by running Banshee).
