Hi, sorry for late answer, wasn't home.

The problem persists, there is no suggestion box when I plug the
player in and when I plug it in with banshee running it start's trying
to connect to the player but nothing happens (see attached pic).

please let me know if there's anything I can do.

here come the files, had to install gvfs-bin and while that was
running I got this error msg:

I also got this when updating the system

Setting up apport (1.20.1-0ubuntu4) ...

dpkg: error processing apport (--configure):

Package apport is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing apport-gtk (--configure):

No apport report written because the error message indicates its a
followup error from a previous failure.

                                   Errors were encountered while

E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Can you tell me what this is?

Seems like you are facing an issue with a previous upgrade (probably related to apport package) so probably broke something in your system. Please could you try to run a "sudo apt-get update && apt-get upgrade" and check if that solve your problem.
