Could you "export LANG=C" and try again in the same terminal? I cannot
understand that language.

Marking invalid. It seems to conflict with a package that does not exist in the Ubuntu archives.

Actually, upon closer inspection, it seems packages are supposed to name the .xml files they install into /usr/share/mime/packages after themselves.

I manually edited my /usr/share/mime/packages/amazonmp3.xml to the attached file and changed the file permissions with no luck.

Hi Folks,

sorry for my bad english. I solved the problem for my configuration: deinstall the old amazonmp3-package (from amazon.com - this version was for ubuntu 8.04) and try again to install banshee_1.7.3.

Hope that works!

Regards

eska

eska, that did not fix it for me.

I purged that program and deleted "/usr/share/mime/packages/amazonmp3.xml" and "/usr/share/mime-info/amazonmp3.keys" and "/usr/share/mime-info/amazonmp3.mime". I am still unable to install banshee 1.7.3

If you still get the message about file conflicts, do "dpkg -S
/usr/share/mime/packages/amazonmp3.xml".
