Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

I recently upgraded to karmic and have been having problems during music playback with both rhythmbox and banshee freezing. The problem is very intermittent for both of them (but worse for rhythmbox), sometimes playback is normal, sometimes it is choppy, sometimes it freezes 3 seconds into a song, sometimes after many songs. X does not freeze at all for me. I've also tried connecting and disconnecting pulseaudio server with the pulseaudio manager- it seems to work better when it is off, but even that doesnt always work. also, i've noticed that some freezes are concurrent with an automatic reconnecting of the pulseaudio server. finally, npviewer.bin has been crashing a bunch since the upgrade (one of the first crashes i noticed).

This is a duplicate of another bug, but I have submitted this bug by calling apport-bug on the banshee process during a freeze per the request of Sense here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/410763/comments/9 .

Hope some of this helps
Thanks!
