Bug Description

After upgrading to Ubuntu 17.04 my banshee works as expected but crashes on importing new files.
All extensions have been disabled, no change. A clean run on a new user behaves the same. Console output attached.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

status: New → Confirmed

Not directly related to the bug, but as a workaround, I was able to "import" music by copying it into the location of the media library and re-analyse it.

Yes, that worked for me as well.

I've been getting this crash as well (in 17.04). I don't know if it adds any useful information, but I've attached another log from: banshee --debug --show-import-media 2>&1 | tee /tmp/20172334-banshee.log

Same problem here.
This worked previously as I've currently got 51k+ songs in the library, but cannot add new media

Still happens in 17.10
The issue has been fixed,
http://banshee-media-player.2283330.n4.nabble.com/Media-import-crashes-Banshee-td4652627.html

but needs somebody to create PPA release for 17.10

Still applies to 18.04, no fixes appear to have been released.
