Bug Description

The Bug title pretty much says it all. While playing a set of songs I decided to click on one of the "Recommended Artists" and Banshee generated crashed and generated an error. I will included two files. The first called BansheeException.txt contains the error information that was presented in the error window dialog. The second file called BanseeTrace.txt was generated by running Banshee with the --trace option set. These files will be attached once the bug is opened.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? May you try to reproduce it with Gutsy? You may grab a CD Image from here: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ thanks in advance.

Alexandre, thanks for your willingness. Check out https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and see if you can get a good .crash file. Open it up from Nautilus and it will automatically report a new bug here. Report back if you need any help.

Andrew, I can't attach my .crash file using Apport/ Nautilus.
Do you want me to upload it here? Hope my previous files will be useful.

You should be able to double-click on it and submit it via Apport, but
otherwise you could get some help via IRC or the forums. (I'd help but I
don't really know how to deal with problems.)

But I think your files are enough anyway. This looks a lot like a bug filed
upstream: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357548. That bug was
fixed but in this case, of course, we're dealing with the Recommendations
plugin, which may use different code to open a link. A few questions:
* Can you access the links in the Help menu?
* Do you have a default browser set? (System | Preferences | Preferred
Applications)

I was having the same problem, it was fixed by setting the default browser.

Matt, yes, that's the prescribed fix here. This was fixed a while ago, so that you should get a warning for URLs that can't be loaded; in which version were you having this crash?

This is certainly fixed in Intrepid (and by the look of the upstream bug report in several past versions as well). Please reopen if it is still an issue for you.
