Some opengl apps like glxgears show as "panel" in the launcher

Bug Description
I have fglrx drivers from official repos and glxgears app shows as panel in launcher.
When trying to quit this app through unity quicklist unity-panel-service chrashes unity.
I have also seen this behaviour with apps made with SFML and OpenTK game libraries.
