Bug Description

Ubuntu 12.04LTS

Unity launch icons not visible. The links are there, and will launch the apps, but just no icons. The system said there were updates available to several packages, and I installed them. Still no solution. This PC has an NVidia display adapter, so likely one of the known bugs in the drivers that I've read about. I plan to try a different video card (several other platforms with similar CPU/MB's and different (ATI) video cards have worked fine from the same installation thumb drive).
