Bug Description

I tried to add the static quicklist to open a new terminal in gnome-terminal.desktop:

+X-Ayatana-Desktop-Shortcuts=New
+
+[New Shortcut Group]
+Name=New Terminal
+Exec=gnome-terminal
+TargetEnvironment=Unity

It never shows up, even after session restart. Poking the dbus interface shows that the applications matches the right gnome-terminal.desktop (none in my local folder), but the entry never shows.
Note that pasting exactly the same string/patch works pretty well in for instance gnome-screenshot.desktop

Seems to be - related in the desktop filename. Deja-dup got the same issue.

Check that you're really currently editing the desktop file that unity is using. Generally the hierarchy is ~/.local/share/applications /usr/share/applications
