VLC appears twice in the launcher

VLC appears twice in the launcher (see screenshot) when opening a mkv file with VLC. This happens around every tenth time.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open nautilus
2) Open a video (e.g. mkv file) with vlc
3) Close the video

Repeat step two until you experience the bug.
