Bug Description

The bacula install was stuck when trying to configure the Postgres sql database
I could not find clear install instructions on the bacula site.

So now I'm trying to back it out with synaptic package manager, using the 'completely remove' option, but even this is now failing.

I'm fairly new to ubuntu, and open source, so please let me know if I should be logging this somewhere else.
I've tried to search for a fix on the bacula site but can't seem to find anything relevant.

Hope you can help. Right now with this in its current state, I'm unable to install anything (or uninstall).
I'm considering a nuke and pave of the Ubuntu mate OS, but my backup software isn't currently working either.

Thanks in advance,
Scooz

Hi, thanks for taking the time to file a bug, however this is more of a local configuration issue. I would highly suggest taking your bug and making a thread on the community forums. That is the best place to get help for questions like this.

From the log:

debconf: DbDriver "config": /var/cache/debconf/config.dat is locked by another process: Resource temporarily unavailable

It looks like something is running, like another apt/apt-get process that is blocking the remove. Making sure no other operations are going on, and possibly even rebooting may help.

Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem,
rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I am marking this bug as 'Incomplete'.

However, if you believe that this is really a bug in Ubuntu, then we would
be grateful if you would provide a more complete description of the problem
with steps to reproduce, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu
rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug
status back to "New".

For local configuration issues, you can find assistance here:
