Bug Description

Binary package hint: firmware-b43legacy-installer

Broadcom card 14e4:4324 (BCM4306 / BCM4309) needs the b43legacy driver to work, but the firmware-b43legacy-installer says that b43 is needed instead. The card does not work with b43.

Any workaround available?

Note that I do not own the card. I have filed this bug after trying to help someone getting a 14e4:4324 working.

You guys are both in the case that same hardware id may need b43 or b43legacy in different chip versions.

If the script of firmware-b43-installer or firmware-b43legacy-installer cannot make a correct decision for you, why don't you follow upstream's guide directly?
