This is a duplicate of bug #561919. (The traceback changed between the two reports, but it's the same bug.) Please note that this particular bug is about the POP backend. If you have trouble with other backends, like IMAP or Gmail, please file a separate bug report and tell which backend you use.

@leigh123linux: Your backtrace is not POP, but IMAP backend, the according bug is bug #630205 and will be fixed soon, too.
