autokey corrupting keyboard after upgrade

Lubuntu 13.10 upgraded to 14.04 , Autokey-GTK 0.90.4, Ibus 1.5.5
After using autokey to fill Firefox 28 form fields, the keyboard characters become corrupted.
As I type this, sometimes nothing appears when a key is pressed, and on repeat of the key an "r" appears, which takes 2 or 3 backspaces to erase. Then everything is OK for 5 more characters, then as above again.

Quitting autokey doesn't help, restarting it doesn't help.
New tray icon for Ibus 1.5.5 right-click Restart captures mouse and doesn't release it, requiring reboot.

Confirmed, exactly the same thing here after the Lubuntu upgrade to Lubuntu 14.04 (trusty).

Since updating to Ubuntu 14.04 autokey sometimes works in Firefox, but often forgets to remove the 1st character of the typed abbreviation. Pity...

After a clean install of Lubuntu 14.04, Firefox 30.0, Thunderbird 24.5.0, Autokey 0.90.4 for KDE
the problem is still present.
It does NOT affect entering data into FF and TB Master Password fields, only forms and Edit > Preferences fields.

I have also upgraded Ubuntu from 13.10 to 14.04 and have too noticed this bug.

Glad to see from the above that this bug is now "confirmed" - does that mean that it is likely to be sorted out in weeks rather than months?

Not sure if this is the right spot to suggest a simple work around, while waiting for the bug to be sorted out, but by inserting <delete> at the beginning of the phrase to be output, any remnant(s) of the abbreviation are removed and the phrase is output correctly (so far).
