Bug Description

Binary package hint: autofs

Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 using :
autofs 4.1.4+debian-2.1ubuntu2
kernel 2.6.28.11.14

I'm using the default auto.smb script shipped with autofs to automount samba shares /smb. This script worked flawlessly on 8.10.

When accessing a samba share in /smb/servername/sharename, it seems like autofs recursively mounts all "servername" shares under /smb/servername/sharename. For example, if server1 shares share1 and share2 :

$ ls /smb/server1
share1 share2
$ ls /smb/share1
share1 share2
$ ls /smb/share1/share2
share2 share2
$ ls /smb/share1/share2/share2
share2 share2
etc...

And thus the actual share contents is unreachable. Accessing the server with smb://servername/sharename works.

My bad, I didn't search enough.
This bug is caused by smbfs not being installed on my system. And thus, it's a duplicate of bug 158816.

This bug happens with me, even with smbfs installed.
