Bug Description

I reported this upstream here:


augeas segfaults when you issue a command like

ls /files/etc/apache2/sites-available/default/VirtualHost/Directory[2]/directive[3

due to a null pointer dereference.

Confirmed (on Natty - worked just fine on Lucid):

jamespage@ubuntu-natty:/etc$ sudo cp -pr /etc $AUGEAS_ROOT
jamespage@ubuntu-natty:/etc$ sudo chown -R $(id -nu):$(id -ng) $AUGEAS_ROOT
jamespage@ubuntu-natty:/etc$ augtool -b
augtool> ls /files/etc/apache2/sites-available/default/VirtualHost/Directory[2]/directive[3
unmatched [
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Really annoying but does not impact functionality (only usability) so setting importance to 'Medium'.
