Fail to preview formulae

This bug is similar (maybe a copy) to #524961 (however, at least explicitly I never refer to the package hyperref).

Anyhow, the bug is as follows:

latex preview fails to show equations, it refers to a ghostscript error:

However, latex-preview succeeds to show inline equations, that is LaTeX mathematical formulae in the form $$.

But it does fail to show the groups \begin{equation} \end{equation}

This is true at least for the class article, revtex4-1, and so on. This is a really annoying bug, becuase many people using Linux/Ubuntu use everyday emacs/LaTeX.

I tried to --purge and reinstall TeX, ghostscript, with no success, evidently.

I have recently removed TeXLive 2009 and installed TeXLive 2010 by myself.

So far it looks like that bug disappeared. Although it is not a patch, but it solved my problems. I will write more here if I find some problems with this.

By the way, I installed TeXLive 2010 by hand following this help:

It is in Italian, but 1) it should be easy to understand what is going on maybe using google-translate. 2) There are tons of similar pages on internet in English.
