2010-07-12 12:16:12 Olivier Grisel description It would be very appreciated if the atlas packages shipped in ubuntu by default could provide a variant to leverage multi-core architectures such as the core2 by enabling the multi-threading build option. The upstream debian package seems to have a core2sse3 variant that might provide this (although I have a debian at hand to check). In the mean time ubuntu users that want to leverage multi cores for linear algebra are required to build atlas from source manually or install a non free alternative such as the MKL.
