Asymptote crashes with segfault on 3D example

Bug Description

Under Ubuntu 14.04 asymptote crashed reproducible with a segmentation fault.

Call:

asy -vvv /usr/share/doc/asymptote/examples/RiemannSurface.asy

output:

[...]
Wrote RiemannSurface.eps
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Version is 2.16 (2.15-2build2 amd64)

Same problem is affecting KDE4/Plasma users. I can produce the above from Mageia 5 (KDE4/Plasma) but under the Ubuntu-based Bodhi Linux, using Enlightenment the code works fine. Also fine under Windows 7. See https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86281

Please link that bug to Debian #934252.
I think the freedesktop bug is unrelated, the gdb backtrace points to another piece in source code. Anyway this is not a bug in asymptote, so it should be reassigned.
