Bug Description

[ Impact ]

 * Ark is unable to extract or view 7z after p7zip to 7zip transition in Ubuntu noble 24.04

 * ark relied on /usr/lib/p7zip/7zr which is now gone in 7zip

[ Test Plan ]

 * Try to open 7zip archives and it fails.
 * With patches it does not.

[ Where problems could occur ]

 * This fix should have no impact on anything but ark.

[ Other Info ]

 * Fixes (LP: #2051041)

I suggest to make this bug critical. After installing Kubuntu 24.04.1 (coming from 22.04 LTS) I can't open my protected .7z files. There is no workaround, so I consider this bug critical.

So it's 2025 now. Related bug 2051041 was opened on 2024-01-26. Ubuntu noble 24.04 was even released with this known bug. A year later, and I still cannot open my protected 7zip files. I really can't take *Ubuntu distro's serious anymore for production. Regression is all over the place.

Ok, so it turned out the fix upstream did was for qt6 only. It was above my ability to backport to qt5 and the devs wouldn't. There does appear to be a workaround here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468240 I am truly sorry.
