Bug Description

There are several packages that have "Suggests: python", but the versionless "python" package doesn't exist in Focal.

These are too many packages for me to file individual bug reports for each of them, so I am filing an overall bug to track this.

I can link this as "also affects" to all the various packages, if that is helpful.

thanks for doing that, however the work doesn't go away. do you have tested patches to address these?

I have no tested patches, as I don't use these packages. Just trying to catalog the TODOs.

I am also, perhaps more-importantly, unfamiliar with the workflow to create patches for this, but I could get involved with trying to fix them if I knew how.

- What source tracker is it (git, bazaar, etc) and where are the repo links for these packages?
- Would I be able to upload my patch in my own forked code repo or just post patches as text?
  - Where to post patches to get them seen or reviewed?
- Any docs/cheat sheets to get up to speed with this workflow?
