aptitude changelog doesn't work

When I try to use aptitude to read a changelog, I get this:
david@helicon:~$ aptitude changelog ubuntu-desktop
E: ubuntu-desktop is not an official Debian package, cannot display its changelog.

My sources.list is (blank lines removed):
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-updates main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-updates main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-security main restricted universe multiverse

My apt.conf is:
Aptitude::Recommends-Important "false";
