Bug Description
lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu 20.04.4 LTS
Release: 20.04
apt-cache policy apticron:
Installed: 1.2.3+nmu1
Candidate: 1.2.3+nmu1
Expected: apticron obeys apt's APT::Periodic:
Happened: apticron always downloads package updates.
Apticron has hardcoded logic to perform automatic downloads of upgradeable packages. This causes undesirable behaviour on systems where the administrator prefers apt not to download updates automatically for reasons of conserving network bandwidth, using metered networks etc.
It would be appreciated if apticron obeyed apt's APT::Periodic:
