timeout error when entering the password takes too long

Bug #623424 reported by Michael Vogt on 2010-08-24
This bug affects 2 people
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
aptdaemon (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: policykit-1-gnome

When using softwarecenter and clicking on "install" the policykit gnome authentication agent dialog comes up.
If I now wait a couple of seconds (~30sec?) i see the following on the terminal:
WARNING:softwarecenter.backend:_on_trans_error: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

I suspect this is a policykit agent issue, but it might be something to do with aptdaemon, help is much appreciated.
