Did that happen ever again? Do you have a way to reproduce the problem. The error is a bit odd, but I would love to fix it if I can find a way to reproduce the bug.

Hello, Michael

I tried several times to reproduce the bug, but with no success. So, I think it ether was a unique magical thing or it has been fixed by one of the updates during these 4 days. I think we can close the bug for now, if it pops any time later, I will report it again.

Bug 442122 was marked by apport as a duplicate and happened after the connection to apt-daemon was lost. I can't reproduce it but perhaps manually killing apt-daemon while software-center is running will result in the same conditions?

I tried to install a lot of programs (10+), and after the 8th one, programs started not appearing on the 'Installing packages' screen. I closed the software center. Now, the downloading and installing happens in the background, and if I start the software center it dies with this error.
