2006-09-08 02:31:57 Christoph Wolk description Version: 0.6.45ubuntu7 when I use apt, it tells me that a lot of packages (152) are not needed any longer. Among them are xchat-gnome, mplayer, monodevelop, gazpacho, glom, abiword, gnumeric and a lot of games. I'd rather keep some of these :) I installed all of them with gnome-app-install, other than that I can't think of anything they have in common. Installed something with g-a-i, ran "sudo apt-get install" and got told that the exact four packages I installed were automatically installed and no longer required :-/

2006-09-08 18:15:20 Michael Vogt synaptic: statusexplanation Thanks for your bugreport and your analyses! This problem is fixed in my local tree and will be part of the next upload. Unfortunately it can't fix the errors it made in the past. You will either have to use "apt-mark unmarkauto pkgname" to correct the information or simply delete the file /var/lib/apt/extended_states thanks, Michael
