This would seem to be a package management problem, or something gone wrong in the system otherwise.

Like it suggests, I'd reinstall the offending package and reinstall it. If you're using Unity 7 as your desktop (or GNOME 3, or XFCE, but not KDE or Unity 8), it is relatively safe to do the following on the command line:

sudo apt purge qtdeclarative5-xmllistmodel-plugin

Take a note of the packages it removes, so you can re-install if necessary. For example, you might want to:

sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop unity8

affects: qtdeclarative-opensource-src (Ubuntu) → apt (Ubuntu)
