Bug Description

Binary package hint: apt

When doing apt-get upgrads (like I did this morning, 2007-08-24 09:35 CST), tends to freeze from time to time. I have to close the terminal, manually remove /var/cache/apt/archives/lock, and then do apt-get -f install in order to finish the installation of the updates. Usually if there are only a few updates it is fine, but if there is more than 5 (just a guess) it will freeze during the "setting up" process. I have been noticing this now for over a week.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Could you please let me know what version of apt you have instaleld? Please also include /var/log/apt/term.log (if available). I suspect this is bug #134858

Thanks,
 Michael

Sorry it took me so long... /var/log/apt/term.log does not show anything really except for when it started and when it ended. The only thing it shows is apt freezing, me stopping it, and then restarting apt within 2 minutes. No errors are in there at all. If I use Adept to update, it goes through just fine, it is just when I use apt at the cli that I have problems with it.
