"Dynamic MMap ran out of room" sounds a bit like an out-of-memory issue; or possibly an unreasonably large request for memory.
What is the size of /var/lib/apt/lists/ftp.debian.org_dists_sarge_main_binary-i386_Packages, and how much memory did your system have available when you tried this command?
And, um... why, if this is an Ubuntu system, are you using Debian package repositories? I have a strong suspicion that that would cause problems. |
