Bug Description

after recent updates, apt-xapian-index is running out of control. it starts several times a day and and will not stop. it consumes 50% to 100% of the cpu and causes the computer temperature to rise to dangerously high levels and overheat.

Bug #769215 reports the apt running for one minute. On my system, it ran for more than half an hour before I had to shut the system down.
