Bug Description
Instalation of Ubuntu 5.0.4 freezes on the "Configuring apt.." stage when it is
25% complete with status "Creating primary package installation base" (sorry if
spelling not exact).
PC: Intel 865PE chipset / Celeron 2.0 standarg frequencies, PAT enabled, dual
channel 512 Mb RAM, IDE HDD (linux partition 4.2 gb, swap 1 Gb. Dual boot system
(boot partition - Windows, NTFS). 2 netwrok adapters, both standard Realtek
8139. No direct internet connection (need to use VPN - PPPoverEthernet).
Configuration worked well with previous RedHat (kernel 2.4) distr and Fedora (2.4).
Tried to remove both network adapters physically - the same result, freezes at
"Configuring apt.." stage.
