Binary package hint: apt-file
I am using apt-cacher-ng to proxy apt package installation.
When installing apt-file on a desktop system, it fails, most probably not recognizing a proxy is in place.
ProblemType: Bug
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04
Package: apt-file 2.4.0
ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2
Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic x86_64
Architecture: amd64
Date: Wed Apr 20 07:26:26 2011
InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Alpha amd64 (20110315)
PackageArchitecture: all
ProcEnviron:
LANGUAGE=en_US:en
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
SHELL=/bin/bash
SourcePackage: apt-file
UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) |

WORKAROUND:
- Edit /etc/apt/apt.conf to comment out the proxy configuration line temporarily
- Re-launch apt-file update |
