Are you referring to ubuntu-bug or reportbug? Can you please clarify?

The problem is still here in 12.10.
The problem is for ubuntu-bug which seems to belong to reportbug package:
~ apt-cache search ubuntu-bug
reportbug - reports bugs in the Debian distribution
~

I discovered ubuntu-bug belonging to apport. I had to use packages.ubuntu.com to discover this.

FYI, you can use "dpkg -S" to find it (if it's installed; otherfile apt-file might help):
% dpkg -S bin/ubuntu-bug
apport: /usr/bin/ubuntu-bug

Daniel Hahler (blueyed) wrote :

Are you sure that ubuntu-bug actually crashes?

I rather think that you might be confused because it does not open a browser window anymore, but instead silently sends the report in the background.

There is a report for this already (with duplicates), but I could not find it now.

1. I never used dpkg (back-end). I was (wrongly) expecting a tool from the apt-something to reveal the information. Thanks for the hint.

2. Yes, it actually crashes. I attach here a screenshot. It's happening in 12.10 and was already happening in 12.04.
