apport does not work if you have installed both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. If you run

sudo apport-collect 889905

this is the result:

The peculiarity of this problem is that the process is blocked and a window appears where you said it's not Google allow access to the root. A further peculiarity is that Google is not your default browser, but Mozilla Firefox is set as the default browser.
