Bug report won't accept root password

Bug #876480 reported by Ubugto on 2011-10-17

apport (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

While filing a bug report and sending the kernel logs, apport asked for an admin password. At first, it wouldn't let me select the password field (didn't have auto focus) and then on the retry didn't accept my correct password. Reporting bugs correctly is hard when even the bug report app is bugged.

I have a similar problem. Couldn't find another bug report that exactly matches my concern. It looks like when the crash is in a process owned by root, apport wants you to enter the root password? Which is tough for me, since I sudo and root login is disabled. Shouldn't I be able to enter my password to sudo submit the report?

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in apport (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed
