Bug Description

Binary package hint: apport

Whenever i try logging out of a session the screen goes black and the machine does not respond. Can't switch to commandline or anything. Have to manually turn off the computers power. When I reboot this crash report is waiting I hope it's related to the same thing.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help. If there is anything you want me to do (send files, stop sending bug reports (cause I'm no good) just let me know).

Thank you for doing a kick ass job :)

Indeed this is the same cause as bug 85155: apport-gtk processes a huge report, and crashes because it cannot allocate any memory any more. Thus I mark this bug as a duplicate.

However, can you please do

  ls -l /var/crash

? Apart from this apport-gtk crash, there should be another report that was the actual cause.
