Given the number of recent duplicates of this am marking it back to confirmed, and setting importance to high.

the failures are completely unrelated, that's apport going crazy and wrongly duplicating reports when there is a dpkg error during an update-manager run i.e. any package installation failure.

affects: update-manager (Ubuntu) → apport (Ubuntu)
summary: - update-manager crashed with SystemError: E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg
- returned an error code (1)
+ apport wrongly duplicates package installation failure reports.
