Binary package hint: apport

I am working on my *buntu desktop... and suddenly, i receive not 1 but 4 password dialog window asking me my admin password to do some root-only task...

hmm, no information about what except that it is apport-kde

why does it need root access? why can't it present me some useful information before asking the user a password?

Thank you for taking your time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
Here's what happens:
Crash reports are always owned by the user or rather UID they were running under and can only be accessed by them. Like:
8.0K -rw------- 1 root root 7.1K 2010-03-15 04:24 _usr_bin_ubuntu-vm-builder.0.crash
So unless the report is owned by you like when a user app like firefox for example crashed, apport needs the admin password to do anything. The most it could tell you before asking the password would be something like:
"Trying to access /var/crash/_usr_bin_ubuntu-vm-builder.0.crash please enter your password to continue."

i understand not everybody wants to see such technical message. but maybe I do ?
maybe should it be an option or simply have two kind of message.

one for everyone and the other one hidden under a details button with more info.

let me rewrite "Trying to access /var/crash/_usr_bin_ubuntu-vm-builder.0.crash please enter your password to continue." for you.

"Apport-KDE, your crash report system application needs to access a crash report on your system. please enter your password to continue."

<details>
"Trying to access /var/crash/_usr_bin_ubuntu-vm-builder.0"
</details>
