Bug Description

[I am not sure if apport was present in the previous (17.10) Lubuntu Next, or that as now, I had to install it...]

I wished to report a bug, as I have often done before, and used the terminal to invoke ubuntu-bug.
I was informed that I needed to install apport to gain that command.

I did so, but then wondered if apport's absence was a mistake, or an intentional decision to omit the package...

The ability to report crashes/bugs seems like such an obvious and necessary thing to include, for any distro...

???

Do you mean "Lubuntu Next does not support Apport/ubuntu-bug"?

What system of bug-reporting is currently supported for/by Lubuntu Next?

(Naturally, one can go to launchpad and manually report bugs, or if one is aware of
the previously provided ubuntu-bug/apport, one can install and use that.
But I see nothing in the menu that looks like a gui app to report bugs, and as Lubuntu Next and Lubuntu get closer to merging, one assumes that there will be some obvious way for a user to report bugs for apps that crash or that appear to be mis-behaving.

Lubuntu Next was never officially released, even though we had beta/alpha versions. Additionally, the idea of having both a LXDE and LXQt image is something we will not be continuing for the Cosmic cycle. Instead, we will be switching over to LXQt entirely. It will most certainly have apport in it, though we will need to do some packaging work on the Qt frontend (apport-kde) as it's a little less Qt and a little more KDE. That said, I've co-opted this bug for that purpose.

How did you end up running Ubuntu 18.04? Did you upgrade from a previous version of Ubuntu or did you install fresh? If you did a fresh install from what media did you install?

Are you certain that it said apport was not installed or did was it actually 'python3-launchpadlib' that needed installing?

Lubuntu-Next, actually - from:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/lubuntu-next/daily-live/pending/ --> bionic-desktop-amd64.iso

Installed onto USB with mkusb package.

>Did you upgrade from a previous version of Ubuntu or did you install fresh?
I always install fresh.
(My HD has 5 partitions for distros, plus swap, plus my personal data partition.
If I need something from the previous install, it's right there in one of the other
partitions, which (since I name the other partitions in install (-->fstab)), I have right at hand...)

>Are you certain that it said apport was not installed [?]
Yes.
I called "ubuntu-bug" from the terminal, and it said there was no such command, and it then said I should install apport to gain such command...

I think this bug as-is is Invalid. I'll track the apport-kde -> apport-qt move elsewhere.
