Bug Description

Seems to be when mediascanner-2.0 is not running when *it's* usually the process that takes up 100% cpu ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mediascanner2/+bug/1398614 )...that apport begins to run at 100% cpu for an indeterminate time(after awhile of heating up my computer, I typically kill -9 it).

Looking at your CrashReports.txt file it seems that mediascanner has crashed. This would cause apport to then run and information to the crash file before sending it to the Ubuntu Error Tracker.

since mediascanner doesn't seem to crash so much in 16.10 ...this might be way harder to reproduce / isn't as much of a problem.
