[hardy] openoffice.org-gtk should be automatically installed in Xubuntu

Bug #236265 reported by Denis Rut'kov on 2008-05-31
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
app-install-data-ubuntu (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

When I used 'Add/Remove software' to add OO.Writer I later found that it looked surprisingly ugly in my XFCE environment (menu fonts were huge). Manually installing openoffice.org-gtk package fixed this.

Not a bug in xubuntu-meta, reassigning to OpenOffice.org

er this isn't a bug in openoffice.org your *buntu has to seed what parts of openoffice.org it wants. Kubuntu seeds openoffice.org-kde Ubuntu seeds openoffice.org-gnome, etc.

So strictly speaking this might not be a bug in xubuntu-meta but it is a bug in xubuntu in general.

It is NOT a bug in Xubuntu at *all*. The issue would affect any user attempting to install OpenOffice.org - it just happens Ubuntu ships it by default.

Are there similar problems in recent releases of Ubuntu?

Note that Hardy or 8.04's desktop supporting cycle has been ended for quite a while.
