Bug Description

Binary package hint: apache2

Apache 2 with default configuration is not able to server files from unionfs used on a ubuntu derived live usb distribution.
The solution is to add the

 EnableSendfile Off

line into the apache configuration file.

I am confirming this bug, but I think it should not be fixed for three reasons:

1. Using a live cd for providing a web server is not appropriate. Live cds are for desktop systems.
2. Disabling sendfile will slow down Apache by default.
3. This is not an apache bug.

But I agree it's and interesting behaviour. The main maintainer for the apache package will decide. Maybe we can at least handle this in the documention.

I develop a small router running from IDE flash disks with union filesystem and apache.
There are some similar attempts on the net, so the problem is not so abstract as running apache from LiveCD.
It would be nice to include this in to the documentation, in the specific situation
it was very difficult to find the core of the problem.

Thanks for your comment. Thank probably adding it to the documentation is the best way.

Thanks, I had the same problem : no long HTML and no PNG and now with this new line in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf, I see it properly !
