Bug Description

Binary package hint: apache2

After a fresh install of maverick and apache2 php5, the php files end up in a blank page or are sent by the server as a file to download !

I have even redone the installation of maverick and then apache2 php5 but nothing changes.

I believe this is a duplicate of bug 603192.
In short, the following should fix the problem:
 sudo restart apache2

Hello,

I have restarted apache2 with

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 force-reload

and I have even restarted the computer itself but nothing changes.

@Jörg, I have previously seen situations where the browser/client caches the PHP source. Can i suggest you try clearing your browser cache, and/or trying from a different computer?

Hello Dave,

I am using ubuntu from the very beginning and have already cleared the
browser cache and have even tried with chromium but nothing changes. If
I just type http://localhost I'll get a white page and if I type
http://localhost/index.php I have the proposal to download the page.

Just for information I am on maverick for amd64.

Kind regards,
