Anki "Edit Deck Properties" window does not close

When I run anki 0.9.5.7 (Intrepid's anki) and click on Edit-->Deck Properties-->Scheduling and change the values and then choose to close the window by clicking on the border of the window (or even when clicking the |close" button), it just refuses to close and doesn't even allow me to save those scheduling settings forcing me to do kill the anki process!

This is fixed in an upstream release. Consider downloading a deb of the latest version from the Anki website.

I will download the upstream, however, I can also add that this bug is not limited to deck properties but is present whenever a window other than the main window is open.
Why does the deb in the Ubuntu repository not have the fix yet?

You'll need to ask the Ubuntu maintainer of this package about that - I'm not familiar with their procedures.
