I'm surprised that a beta version is included here. After an upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04 Anki suddenly looked quite different and some features where missing (e.g. my saved searches disappeared). Also some popular plugins like AwesomeTTS are not ready for 2.1 beta yet.
The latest stable Anki release is still 2.0.x. Shouldn't that be packaged instead?
