Can't swipe in from outside emulated phone screen

On a physical phone an edge swipe is performed by touching the frame of the phone and moving onto the screen. On the emulator you must start an edge gesture by clicking inside the emulated screen. Click and drags from the emulated phone frame do not do anything.

That's by design, same happens with the phones. The only difference is that the touch screen for the phone starts and ends after the screen part of it, so it gives the impression you're coming from the outside frame.
