Bug Description

About 7 days ago, on Ubuntu 12.04 I installed android adt/eclipse. adt-bundle-linux-x86_64-20130522.zip. I install the adt/eclipse and it seems to work as eclipse. I did not install any of my android projects on the AVD. When I launch the AVD from AVD manager using start | launch it launches fine. I can see the AVD phone displayed.

I observe the space used by emulator64-arm and it seems it has memory leak. Shortly after start emulator64-arm was about 200 MiB, then emulator64-arm MM goes from about 200MiB to 421.5MiB where the growth slows down after 5 minutes, but still grows about 100KiB/min. 15 min grew 1.5MiB. I am not doing anything with the AVD not pushing any controls. 12 hours later it grew to memory=439.4MiB.

The biggest problem is when I start pushing controls on the phone for example, menu, home, start button, resident applications that came with the AVD, start browser, etc, the adt/eclipse crashed including the whole ubuntu 12.04 crash that was not crashing before. By crash I mean it goes to black screen and I have to reboot. But it does not crash on pushing the first control, I can push few, and when push say the 5th, it will crash. I have repeated this about 4 times.

Errors appearing in log files:
This is the only new errors that I see, but I am not sure if this is part of the problem or not.
kernel: [ 26.783598] [drm:intel_dsm_platform_mux_info] *ERROR* MUX INFO call failed

The executable path is:
<myhome>/adt/eclipse/eclipse

Running: lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
Release: 12.04

In terms of my hardware, this is DELL Inspiron 14z, with Ubuntu 12.04 which for 6 mo, was crashing very rarely (1/in 4 weeks).

Output of lshw cmd is attached.

What can I say. Delete this bug. Rnning eclipse directly from eclipse directory does not cause crashes. I had a shell script which changed into eclipse directory and then called eclipse and that was crashing. When I run eclipse from eclipse directory, I spent about 5 hours doing tests, it does not crash. Sorry about the inconvenience. I am not sure how to delete the bug report
